What our clients had to say about working with us

"Even though I have a pretty good eye for design and other spacial matters, I have absolutely no talent for organizing. Kate Marengo helped me so much, I don't even know where to begin. Spending time with her to organize my office was not only great fun, but has pointed me in the right direction to get my business running even smoother. You know those piles of papers and junk you've ignored for months, even years? Kate will help you confront them. And trust me, like any makeover TV show, the results are very much worth the pain. Kate has a terrific eye for detail and will show you ways to streamline your space you didn't even know were possible. I can't recommend her services highly enough." - Emily Lonigro, President of Lime Red Studio

"Organizing and being organized are definitely two different things.  I have always done a pretty good job of organizing 'stuff' behind closed doors and into overstuffed drawers, but when you would open the door or drawer, it was clearning another thing, more like organized chaos.  But then along came Kate Marengo and her creative mind and magic wand.  And then, in a very short time..... Voila!!!! I can now open doors and drawers without risking an eruption or avalanche, not to mention that I now can locate and recover things (without LoJack) that I had assumed were gone forever.  Design, decor and detail, she made it happen.  Thanks, Kate, and welcome back 'missing stuff'!!" - Name withheld

A simple way to spice things up

Many people these days aren't buying and selling their homes, rather fixing them up since they are not in a position to be swapping their real estate investments.  Because of this, we've been seeing a lot of innovative products hitting the marketplace for home renovation.

One of the simplest ways to make an enormous impact on a room is to change the walls.  Whether using a bold paint choice, or a wall covering of some sort, the statement can be large with relatively little effort.

I've just discovered a company called Ferm-Living. You should check out their site.  Ferm-Living (a Danish company) has this to say about themselves, "Ferm Living is a Danish company which aims at designing and manufacturing graphic lifestyle products. 'Our products are intended for people who are interested in design and who are not afraid to be a bit bold when they decorate their homes,' says designer and manager, Trine Andersen. The inspiration comes from many different things: fashion, nature, architecture, flea markets, trips around the world, even old needlework books. Trine has an eye for taking things like retro designs and elements from nature and reinterpreting them in a way that makes them clean and modern. By merging fashion, functionality and graphic design, Ferm Living creates products that will bring fashion into every home."

They create clever  products that aren't your run of the mill designs you see.  Use some of their wall paper with your existing Crate & Barrel furniture, and you are sure to hit a home run.  Their newest catalog has some fantastic abstract papers that would be good for alternative spaces, like a small library or powder room.  I for one wish I had a dressing room just so I could decorate it with this wallpaper on the right (above).

They also make wall stickers!  How cool is that?  For more or less (give or take) than $100 you can make loud statement in a small but bold way.  For more cool and funky products from Ferm-Living, be sure to check out their latest catalog which can be found on their site.
